Girl Group

Published in conjunction with Arlene Shechet’s solo exhibition Girl Group at Storm King Art Center. The book features essays by the exhibition’s curators Nora Lawrence and Eric Booker, as well as contributions by Kate Nesin, Anne Reeve, and Sheena Wagstaff, that situate the artist’s work within a career defined by constant discovery. Designed by Other Means, the publication captures Shechet’s exhibition through vibrant fabrication and installation photography, as the artist explores a new direction within the tradition of constructed metal sculpture.

Published in conjunction with Arlene Shechet’s solo exhibition Skirts at Pace Gallery, NYC. Shechet discusses her practice in two new interviews alongside an essay by scholar Rachel Silveri, who explores the lively work in conversation with and as a feminist intervention in the history of modern art. In depth artist interview with Deborah Solomon. Additional interview with Michaëla Mohrmann. This publication’s considered approach to design, including the use of a variety of paper types, nods to Shechet’s own engagement with material.
